Watts Regional School Safety Collaborative
An initiative launched in partnership with Watts/ Century Latino Organization, the Advancement Project, and We Care Outreach Ministries to address student and parent safety as well as academic achievement in Watts’ schools. The goal of the collaborative is to convene key community- based organizations, leaders and stakeholders currently working on safety and safe mobility issues in Watts into a single group of public-private stakeholders to implement a community-wide strategy in the form of a Watts School Safety Action Plan.
Participants are expected to: Achieve a common understanding of the nature & causes of safety and environmental concerns that negatively affect students’ academic achievements. Identify community needs, assets & gaps Develop agree to key outcomes Create an Action Plan detailing strategies and activities associated with the implementation of key outcomes.
